This is not the first such case!

This is not the first case which is brought to our notice but you can see the two major cases disclosed in 2016.

Firstly, infections were developed by 9 patients of the University of Colorado Hospital of which three patients later died. It was due to the operations have undergone a duodenoscope, a hard-to-clean surgical device inserted into a patient’s throat.

Another case uncovered in 2016 by the state Health Department Investigation found that workers at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs failed for years to properly disinfect vaginal ultrasound probes and other pieces of medical and surgical equipment.

This came to light when the technician, Mary Elizabeth Falcone, who was fired by the hospital in September, following what she said was a series of complaints she made to the hospital about problems with disinfection procedures. The lawsuit alleges that Memorial Hospital wrongfully fired Falcone in retaliation for her complaints, and also that it broke a law protecting healthcare workers who report safety problems.
